Langley Lodge is proud to employ 24 hour qualified nursing professionals (Registered Nurses, Registered Psychiatric Nurses and Licensed Practical Nurses) to provide the essential clinical care to the residents, as well as leadership and guidance to the members of the Interdisciplinary Care Team. Langley Lodge has a Physiotherapist and a Rehabilitation Assistant on staff. The aim of the Physiotherapy Department is to assist the resident in achieving his/her full potential in mobility and functional skills and maintaining independence and quality of life.
Services offered intend to provide purposeful, meaningful activity in the form of recreation and leisure pursuits of interest to our residents. These programs are provided by specialists such as Activity Workers, Chaplain, Music Therapist (Accredited), and Horticultural Therapist (Certified). We seek to meet individual needs through one to one and group interaction – building community and enhancing quality of life through quality programming.
The goal of the dietary department is to serve nutritious, tasty and attractive food to residents in a pleasant and satisfying manner. Dietary services are supervised by a Registered Dietitian and Food Services Supervisor. Food preparation and service is provided by experienced, professionally trained Cooks as well as Foodsafe-certified Dietary Aides. We have a five-week rotating menu and additional nourishments in the afternoon and evening. Visitors are welcome to join their resident family member for meals or tea breaks for a nominal cost. Resident and family services are the heart of the Langley Lodge family. The Manager of Social Work provides support and assessment services to the residents upon admission and through out the year. The Social Worker coordinates all resident admissions and discharges and can provide information regarding community resources.
The role of the Social Worker is to focus on the emotional and financial issues or concerns of the resident and support them while they are settling into Langley Lodge. The Manager of Social Work is also available for family members as they adjust to having their family member live in residential care.
Medical Services are organized under the direction of a part-time Medical Co-ordinator who provides a liaison between the Lodge and medical staff. Direct medical care and supervision is provided by the resident's personal physician and/or consultant on referral.
Langley Lodge Pharmacy services are provided by London Drugs. The service includes the supply and monitoring of medications as well as a Clinical Pharmacist who acts as a resource person and is part of the multi-disciplinary team.
Dental health is part of the total resident care. A Dental Hygienist visits Langley Lodge regularly and provides an Oral Assessment for a reasonable fee with a goal of preventing oral or dental emergencies that may affect quality of life and to maintain the comfort of residents. A dentist is available for consultation as required.
We believe that spirituality plays an important role in personal well being throughout all stages of life. Through our programs, services and volunteers we seek to enhance resident’s well being by encouraging personal spirituality. More information is available in our Pastoral Care Services brochure.
Our facility is bright, clean and comfortable. Personal washable laundry services are provided on a daily basis. We have comprehensive janitorial and facility maintenance programs, and building security.
We have administrative staff to provide support for the resident and family in dealing with the day-to-day business of the facility, to receive inquiries and connect visitors, residents and family members to the right personnel for information and assistance. Small trust accounts can be set up and maintained for each resident, to ensure their money is safeguarded, is available to them and is accounted for.
