Langley Lodge Welcomes New CEO

Aly

Langley Care Society is excited to welcome its new CEO, Mr. Aly Devji. His leadership of Langley Lodge will commence on July 19th, 2021. He replaces Debra Hauptman, who is retiring at the end of the month.

Mr. Devji comes with a distinguished background in seniors care. He is one of the former owners, operators and visionaries of the Deltaview Campus of Care. Aly is the current President of BC Care Providers Association, which is the industry association for service providers in the seniors living and wellness sector. “The Langley Care Society Board of Directors are pleased to announce Mr. Devji’s appointment”, President Harry Hansra proclaimed. “Aly is very experienced, knowledgeable and connected within the long-term care sector. We are very fortunate to have him be our leader and carry on the great legacy left behind by our outgoing CEO, Debra Hauptman.”

The Society’s current CEO, Debra Hauptman, is concluding her career with Langley Lodge following 12 memorable years with the organization. Debra helped the Society with major renovations of the original building when it was converted to single-room occupancy in 2009-11. She led the team through 3 successive accreditation evaluations that each time resulted in “exemplary standing” awards.

In 2020, Langley Lodge faced a challenge like no other, the COVID-19 global pandemic. Debra’s guidance, poise and leadership were critical to ensuring that the implementation of the best practices for infection control was undertaken. “Now that the Lodge has recovered from this experience, and the Society is ready to forge ahead with its previous strategic goals, I can resume my retirement plans, leaving the Lodge in good hands with our Board of Directors, the Leadership Team and of course, Aly Devji”, said Hauptman. “I have known Aly for many years, and I am excited that Aly is joining the team to lead Langley Lodge through its next stages of development.”

Aly Devji brings many years of experience leading large organizations. He is an influential leader, highly respected in our sector, and experienced collaborating with all levels of government and business leaders to create seniors living and wellness services for British Columbians. The Board will appreciate Aly as they restart their strategic planning and long-term goals for capital expansion and the introduction of new services for Langley.

A special thank you to all the residents and families of Langley Lodge, past and present. Debra has had the opportunity to meet and work with some family members over the years, especially those who have volunteered, joined Family Council and participated in regular socials at the Lodge. The ongoing support from residents and families has made her experience at Langley Lodge a truly memorable one.

We thank you for your ongoing support.
